Ski season brings early wake-ups, snowy roads and a cargo area full of boots, poles and helmets. The right vehicle makes those weekends easier, from the drive up the mountain to the warm ride home. The 2027 Toyota bZ Woodland is built with that kind of trip in mind.
This all-electric SUV pairs standard dual-motor all-wheel drive with up to 452 km of range, plenty of cargo space and ladder-style roof rails. Here is how the bZ Woodland fits into a ski weekend, from packing the car on Friday night to the drive home on Sunday.
The bZ Woodland is longer and taller in the back than the standard bZ. It adds 140 mm of length and 20 mm of height at the rear, which pays off when you are loading gear.
With the second-row seatbacks folded flat, the bZ Woodland offers 2,120 litres of cargo volume. The 60/40 split rear seats let you fold one side for skis or a snowboard bag while a passenger rides in the other seat. A power back door with a kick sensor opens hands-free, which helps when your arms are full of gear.
Standard ladder-style roof rails give you a base for a ski rack or rooftop cargo box. A tonneau cover keeps valuables out of sight in the cargo area, and a cargo lamp helps you find that missing glove in the dark.
Mountain roads in winter can be snowy and steep. Every bZ Woodland comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive, with one electric motor at the front and one at the rear. Together they deliver 375 hp, making it Toyota’s most powerful battery-electric vehicle. Toyota estimates 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.
X-MODE comes standard and includes Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes. Grip Control helps maintain a steady pace at low speeds on slippery surfaces, like an icy ski-hill parking lot. Downhill Assist Control helps manage speed on steep descents.
With 215 mm (8.5 in) of ground clearance, the bZ Woodland has room to roll over snowbanks and ruts in an unplowed lot.
The bZ Woodland uses a 74.7 kWh battery and offers up to 452 km of range. With the available All-Terrain tires on the Premium grade, range is up to 418 km. Range can vary with temperature, speed and accessory use, so plan for a bit of buffer on cold days.
If you need a top-up on the way, the battery preconditioning system helps keep DC fast-charging times consistent in colder weather. Under ideal conditions, the battery charges from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. The NACS port and included CCS and J1772 adapters give you access to a wide range of public chargers.
After a day on the slopes, a warm cabin feels great. Every bZ Woodland includes heated front and rear seats and a SofTex-trimmed heated steering wheel. Dual-zone automatic climate control lets the driver and front passenger set their own temperatures.
The bZ Woodland Premium adds a front radiant foot-and-leg heater, which helps warm up cold feet after a day in ski boots. It also adds ventilated front seats and a panoramic fixed-glass roof with a power sunshade, which shows off the mountain views.
Every bZ Woodland includes a 120V/1,500-watt AC power outlet in the cargo area. It is handy for charging phones, running a small appliance or powering gear at the chalet or the tailgate. Two wireless phone chargers and three USB-C charging ports keep devices topped up on the drive.
Long drives home after a ski weekend are easier with good support. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard, including Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and Automatic High Beams. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Alert is standard too.
The 14-inch Toyota Multimedia screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Apple Maps EV route planning capability helps you plan charging stops along the way.
