So, you’re shopping for a new full-size pick-up truck. Let’s assume that – like most new vehicle shoppers – you want a reliable, long-lasting truck that offers a great combination of power and efficiency. But that’s not quite enough, is it? You also need something that just fits – you, your life, your family, or perhaps even your job. The built in North America Toyota Tundra has a wide range of 4x2 and 4x4 options, with Double or CrewMax Cabs – from the well-equipped SR 4.6L, to the elegantly finished Platinum and western-themed 1794. Let’s take a look at what the Toyota Tundra can offer you.
Strong & Stylish Exterior
You might say that Tundra got a bit of a facelift in 2018. The front of the truck was refreshed, with some new s, front fascia, and headlight designs, an update to standard LED headlights and fog lights (on equipped models), and even a few new exterior paint colours.
Now let’s take a bit of a closer look, shall we? Some of the competitors will tell you that lighter-weight aluminum is a better option, but we’ve opted for the proven strength and durability of fully galvanized steel for Tundra’s , meaning less maintenance is required.
You can also choose your cargo bed length, depending on how you need to use your Tundra:
8.1 Foot – available on the 4x2 and 4x4 Double Cab SR5 Long Bed models, suitable for hauling full sheet drywall or plywood.
6.5 Foot – available on the Double Cab SR, SR5 Plus and Limited models
5.5 Foot – available on CrewMax models
Every Tundra cargo bed is accessed via a convenient Easy Lower and Lift Locking and Removable Tailgate. Limited and Platinum Models have a standard spray-in bed liner to help maintain a pristine finish.
Double Cab and CrewMax Interior
Tundra offers you a wide range of comfortable interiors, with clever storage options for additional practicality.
If you’re looking for some standard comforts, check out the 4x4 Double Cab SR. It’s got 40/20/40 split front and 60/40 rear flip-up fabric bench seating, air conditioning, power windows and doors, a 6.1” Touchscreen Display Audio system, and a 4.2” Multi-information display
Available in 4x2 and 4x4 Double Cab and 4x4 CrewMax models, the SR5 Plus offers 8-way power adjustable Driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front bucket seats, and 60/40 fold-up rear bench seats with under-seat storage, all trimmed in durable fabrics. Your touchscreen audio is upgraded to a 7” screen and adds integrated SiriusXM Satellite Radio – complete with a 3-month trial subscription.
When you step up to the 4x4 Limited Double Cab or CrewMax models, you’re treated to black leather seating, leather-wrapped steering wheel leather & woodgrain dash trim, a fold-down centre armrest in the rear, dual zone automatic climate control, a power-sliding rear window (vertical, on the CrewMax), and the 7” touchscreen display also includes integrated navigation.

Our 1794 Edition is built upon the 4x4 Platinum. Its name is an homage to the ranch in Texas, founded in 1794, where the Tundra manufacturing plant is now located. It features brown premium leather with suede accents, woodgrain and leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and unique 1794 badging.
With a wide range of interior options, Tundra offers something for just about everyone.

The 4x2 Tundra Double Cab SR5 Plus, and all remaining 4x4 models feature our 381-horsepower, 5.7L i-Force 8-cylinder. On the 4x2, combined fuel efficiency is rated at 15.9 L/100km, while on the 4x4 models, it’s at 16.3. **
The proven workhorse engines are mated to a heavy duty battery, starter, alternator and heater, hood struts and stainless steel exhaust system that help provide Tundra’s legendary durability.
Towing with Tundra
Depending on which model you choose, the Tundra 5.7L models offer between 3,992 kg (8,800 lb) and 4,535 Kg (10,000 lb) towing capacity. *
All Tundras are equipped with the Towing Package: A Heavy Duty Tow Hitch Receiver, 4- and 7-pin Connectors, Supplemental Transmission Cooler, and Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge and Tow/Haul Mode.
Towing and hauling is supported by Tundra’s large 13.9” front brake rotors and 4-piston calipers, and the 5.7L Tundras also have a trailer brake controller, standard.
Toyota Safety SenseTM-P*
We’ve given you a lot to consider about the Tundra lineup, but you may also be interested to know that every 2018 Tundra is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P).
TSS-P is designed to help protect drivers, passengers, people in other vehicles on the road, and pedestrians. It’s comprised of multi-feature active safety packages anchored by automated pre-collision warning and braking. TSS is designed to support the driver's awareness, decision-making and vehicle operation over a wide range of speeds under certain conditions.
Packaged together in an integrated system, TSS-P features help address three key areas of accident protection: mitigating or preventing frontal collisions, helping to keep drivers within their lane, and enhancing road safety during nighttime driving.
The 4 key systems of TSS-P are:
Pre-collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) - Provides collision avoidance or collision mitigation support in speed ranges where frontal collisions are likely to occur. In certain conditions, the PCS w/PD may also help to detect pedestrians and help prevent or mitigate a collision.
Automatic High Beam (AHB) - Designed to detect oncoming and preceding vehicles’ lights and depending upon the circumstances, AHB can switch between high and low beams for you.
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
Using forward sensing radar technology, the system can automatically adjust vehicle speed to help maintain a pre-set following distance between you and the vehicle directly in front of you.
Lane Departure Alert - Alerts you if you start to drift out of your lane when visible lane markings are detected.
Always drive safely, obey traffic speed limits and laws, and focus on the road while driving.
*Drivers should always be responsible for their own safe driving. Please always pay attention to your surroundings and drive safely. Depending on the conditions of roads, vehicles, weather, etc., the TSS systems may not work as intended. Please see toyota.ca, your local Toyota Dealer or Owner’s Manual for details.
