Extended trial periods for Service Connect and Safety Connect on Toyota vehicles

It is with great pleasure that Toyota announced that owners of vehicles equipped with the Service Connect and Safety Connect systems will be entitled to a 10-year trial period. These systems provide additional peace of mind to drivers and passengers in the event of the unexpected.

“We are constantly looking at ways to offer our customers enhanced driving experiences,” said Steve Basra, group vice president, Connected Technologies, Toyota Motor North America. “With our new extended trial for Safety Connect and Service Connect, a wide range of services enable Toyota owners to enjoy more peace of mind when behind the wheel.”


What is Safety Connect?


This suite of options helps drivers feel safer on the road and also in unexpected situations.
This includes Emergency Assistance which, via a button in the vehicle, provides 24-hour communication with a Response Center agent. In an emergency, the Response Center agent can send the emergency services directly to the location of the vehicle and the driver.
Owners will also benefit from the Automatic Collision Notification feature. In the event of an airbag deployment or a severe collision, the Toyota Emergency Center will receive an automatic notification. The officers will then attempt to contact the driver and passengers of the vehicle and then alert the emergency services, so that they go to the scene of the accident as soon as possible.
Then, Safety Connect offers the stolen vehicle locator which, thanks to GPS technology, helps the authorities to trace the vehicle, as soon as a police report has been completed.


The Service Connect system


For its part, the Service Connect system includes vehicle health reports, such as recall and maintenance campaigns, vehicle warnings and alerts, as well as maintenance information, which are easily accessible via the app. Toyota or emailed to owner.
In addition, owners have access to the option of vehicle maintenance alerts. Vehicle alerts and maintenance alerts are therefore shared with the customer's preferred Toyota dealership. The latter may therefore contact the customer to inform him that a maintenance service is necessary for the vehicle.


Owners of vehicles equipped with the Safety Connect and Service Connect systems can access them by downloading the Toyota app, available for iPhone and Android mobile phones. It is via the app that owners will be able to manage their Toyota connected services.
